MIDI Mapping

If you use the MIDI map, you don’t need to have this page browser selected, unlike when controlling with the computer keyboard. You can minimize the page, and the app will continue running in the background, receiving MIDI and sending SysEx messages to the Roland S-760.

If you own a Novation Launchpad Mini, you can download the 'RC-760 Launchpad' preset and load it onto your Launchpad via the Novation Components app.
After that, every time you want to use it here, simply select the proper MIDI input in this page and load the Launchpad MIDI Map.

Instructions

This application requires MIDI acces, please allow it when prompted.
Use a Web MIDI compatible browser, such as Chrome.

To work with the Roland S-760, set the same Device ID in the app as on your S-760.
On the S-760, go to 'System' → 'MIDI,' → 'Device ID' and you can view or change the ID number. Ensure that 'Exclusive RX' below is turned 'ON'. SysEx messages are sent globally through MIDI, so no channel configuration is required.
To request a name from the S-760 using the app, the Roland must be set to 'Out' under 'System' → 'MIDI' → 'MIDI Out/Thru', otherwise the device will not respond to the request.

Save these changes on the S-760 by going to 'System' → 'LD/SV System' → 'SavePRM' (F3).

The app requires MIDI SysEx to function. It will not work in modes that do not receive MIDI signals, including Disk mode commands, Sample mode Sampling commands, confirmation dialogs, or screens where 'Audio output status' is 'Muted'.

To display S-760 video locally, choose your capture device (e.g., Easy CAPture AV TO USB2.0) under Video Device, then press Start Video. Allow camera access when prompted.

This app is not compatible with the S-330 or S-550.

Thanks to Gadget Factory for revealing hidden Roland SysEx messages.
